BIOS 497/897 Plant Systematics

This course explores the methods and applications of plant systematics. 
During the course the students will gain a deeper understanding of:


1) the biodiversity of plants, from algae to crops.
2) the defining characteristics of major plant groups.
3) the phylogenetic relationships among plant groups.
4) the origin and evolutionary diversification of plants and their features.
5) modern methods of plant systematics.
